Tilted Torch presents Amber Ray!

Tilted Torch is bringing Amber Ray down from NYC for both a show (Tilted Torch: Sweet Things) and two lectures! Come learn from one of the most sought after burlesque dancers in NYC! Amber is offering two lectures. Register for one or both! Bring a pen and paper with you as there is sure to be much to remember!

Lecture 1, 1:00-2:00 pm: Costume Crush

Amber Ray's secrets to making Opulent & visual Magic. Topics will include:
*Costume development, the process of creation
*How to make different types of headdresses
*Different types of glues and when to use them
*How to fix damage: stains, rips the joys of sneaky embellishments
*Embellishments: types, layering techniques, etc.
*How to make things on a budget
*Dyeing, tea staining, different types of dye, tricks to dyeing
*Designing
*Swap parties, thrift shopping and calling out for materials
*Having fun with friends and helping each other create
*End with Q&A
*Possible demonstrations

Lecture 2, 2:30-3:30 pm: Dare to Dream, Dare to Dazzle

This is Amber Ray's "Inspiration for Artists" lecture on her philosophy and methods and how these elements built her international career/persona. You will get insider knowledge and methods for organizing your inspirations so you are ready to take action on your dreams with management of life's variables, strengthening your will and focus on your development in a variety of practical and creative ways. Amber Ray will discuss the common battles and obstacles she was up against both internally and externally and gives her personal development methods including tips on networking, tricks and tactics to overcome the challenges life presents.

Bio: Amber Ray is an award winning veteran of the international neo-burlesque scene and has been performing striptease, song, and dance for over a decade. Rated for two years straight in the top 20 burlesque performers in the world, she is noted for her artistic flamboyance, lavish costumes and fierce dramatics which she graces on stages worldwide. She has opulently made her career in the professional art, performance, and fashion worlds and worked with/for designers Thierry Mugler and Marc Jacobs events.
