The Bee Eaters
The Bee Eaters feature the brother-sister duo of Tristan Clarridge on cello and Tashina Clarridge on fiddle. Both have earned extensive national attention (and multiple awards) and have toured with the likes of Darol Anger, and Mark O'Connor. Tristan is currently in the popular acoustic band Crooked Still. Hammered dulcimer wizard Simon Chrisman rounds out the band's sound with an inventive virtuosic touch and sophisticated rhythmic sensibilities. Their second CD, Oddfellows Road, has been receiving rave reviews.
The Bee Eaters trace their roots back to musical traditions of bluegrass, Celtic, jazz and old-time. While today's new breed often produces an amalgamation of sounds and styles based on a distant view, the Bee Eaters were raised embedded in these traditions raised to mold, meld, shape them and carry them forward, leaving their own indelible marks in the process. Their performances are a spirited musical conversation between musicians who push the limits of the acoustic realm.
