Loved by You
Written & performed by Lori Shantzis

Performed to sold out audiences, Loved by You is a testament to the enduring spirit and strength of a woman whose childhood messages were about anything but self-love and self-acceptance.  For anyone who has ever put the love of others before the love of self--this one-woman show reminds us all that it is never too late to find true love...within.

Refusing to act her age, a 40-something woman grapples with some difficult questions about her past. She decides the best way to share her story is through burlesque, exposing more than her D cup, and a few sordid details from her crazy childhood. Will she take it all off, or just drop enough clothes and dirty laundry to leave the audience wanting more?

(New and improved!  Q & A after show to get your feedback!)

"Riveting, engaging, brave...not to mention sexy."

"Juicy!"

"Fabulous!"

(This is a Julie's Girls fundraiser. For more info, contact performer).

Lori Shantzis, aka a.Muse, wears many hats including art dealer, playwright, performer, poet, and a fedora. Born in Hollywood, California, she knew she was destined for a life of fame or ill-repute.

She started her stage career 7 years ago with a stand-up burlesque act which dazzled and confused audiences by being critical of the new war in Afghanistan. She is also the author of a three act play, entitled, "Talking to Strangers," which addresses how ill-prepared the privileged are to deal with economic downturns compared to the experts--people who live on the streets and have already dealt with "impermanence" and non-attachment.

Lori has a degree in Creative Writing and Literature from the College of Creative Studies at UC Santa Barbara, and an MA in Book Arts from Mills College. She currently runs a.Muse art gallery & meeting place where she hosts a variety of fine arts, performance, and fundraising events. www.yourmusegallery.com
