VINX: Premiere of "MEMOIRS OF A HIP 'OLE BLACK MAN'"
Evolve! Artists Live in association with Atlanta Technical College & Dreamsicle Arts & Entertainment presents...

The Atlanta premiere showing of "Memoirs of a Hip 'Ole Black Man."

Memoirs of a Hip 'Ole Black Man tells the story about the life and struggles of jazz musician Vinx De'Jon Parrette.  It presents a view of Vinx's life and career as a lesson in perseverance, humility, hard work, focus and the importance of staying true to your own, unique path and your own, unique gifts.  From his earlier years a celebrated triple jump track and field athlete to the shattered dream of being chosen for the U.S.A. Olympic Team in 1980, Vinx persevered until music restored him.

Vinx has recorded and toured with some of the music industry's greatest icons: Stevie Wonder, Sting, Herbie Hancock, Sheryl Crow, Branford Marsalis, Ernie Watts, Taj Mahal, Ricki Lee Jones, Darius Rucker, Cassandra Wilson, Brenda Russell, Cher, Omar, Zap Mama, the late B.B. King, to name a few.  His songwriting credits are a long list ranging from Tom Jones and Will Downing to The Lion King and Sprite.

Memoirs Of A Hip 'Ole Black Man is a refreshing celebration of the independent artist, inspiring one's uniqueness to be the driving force for creativity and expression. It is an uplifting story and is perfect for audiences of all ages, interests and backgrounds.

Vinx currently teaches at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Dreamsicle Arts & Entertainment Group is home to his production company, studios and the Songwriters Soul Kitchen workshop series.

General Admission for the film screening at 7:00p.m is $10 for one ticket. It includes a welcome and introduction to the film, screening of Memoirs of a Hip 'Ole Black Man, mini performance and the Q & A with Vinx, moderated by Leatrice Ellzy of BeatriXmoss.
