Outdoor field trip programs bring students deep into Seward Park for field study, investigation and hands-on exploration of forest and wetland ecology, conservation, and the web of life. Choose a program option (listed below) and register for free today!
Program details:
Field trips are 3.5 hours long (including a break for lunch). Program includes 3 unique rotations: Guided Nature Walk, Learning activity (varies), and Field Game (varies). We limit field trips to a maximum of 50 students. If you have a larger group, please reserve multiple days. To reserve multiple days, simply go back to the main menu and re-select School Field Trips, select another date and add to cart.
Pricing details:
Field trips are priced at $10/student and you will be sent an invoice after registration is complete. Scholarships are available on a sliding scale and discounts are available for free/reduced lunch schools.

1) Call of the Wild: Animals & The Web of Life
Go feral on this rambunctious adventure through Seward Park. A story of life and death in the forest, you will search for our resident creatures to learn the stories of their hard won battles for survival and their role in the web of life. In the end you will learn how we all are connected and each play a role in a healthy ecosystem. The wild is calling. 2) Eagle's Roost: Birds of Prey & Ecosystems
Seek the home of the mighty eagle on this epic journey. Explore the old growth forest of Seward Park to learn about the plants, animals and ecosystems that support eagle and his family. Hike up trails, rub the bark and touch the plants that grow on his doorstep. Take flight among the majestic creatures at Seward Park. On this quest, you will investigate the secrets of flight and the magic of migration. Enter the mysterious world of song birds, raptors and waterfowl under towering canopy and along glistening shores. 4) Fungus Among-us: Decomposition & The Circle of Life
Discover the fountain of life at your fingertips. With a discerning eye and nimble touch, unearth our most precious resource and inspect the ingredients that power the circle of life from the soil beneath your feet to the towering trees above and back again.
