Eavesdropping: Cornelius Dufallo Patrick Derivaz duo; Urban Resonance & Jake Harper: Saying I, repeating the word many times
Modern composer and curator Guy Barash's new music series "Eavesdropping" returns to The Tank to present some of today's most daring performers and surprising composers.
This installment features:
Cornelius Dufallo Patrick Derivaz duo
music for strings by members of Nodes Contemporary Music Collective Matt Giannotti, Andrew Struck-Marcell, Enrico Arcaro, Conor Brown, and Paul Frucht.
Saying I, repeating the word many times
Amanda Lo, violin
Naoko Maeshiba, choreography and dance
A 'witness' observes the attempt of a central action, a 'doer' is going through the motions of the attempt, and a 3rd party supplies insight to the context of the other two. The plot moves forward along these lines until the final movement, a separation of the spirit of the doer from the body of the witness. All characters are represented by a single dancer, and all music is performed by solo violin.
There is Smoke on the Mountain So There is Fire
Jas Walton, tenor sax
Stuart Bogie, tenor sax
