Each team (4 per night) performs 4 sets of improvised comedy scenes. Audience cheers are what determines the winners. The top 4 surviving teams come back to compete in the ultimate showdown December 23 at 8:30 pm in the championship round to gain not only a Womb Escape Trophy, but pride, and the satisfaction of knowing that their quick wit and ingenious humor gained them comedic respect in the eyes of improv connoisseur's across the pacific northwest.... Or that they had the most friends in the audience! It all takes place at Black Box Theatre on the Edmonds Community College campus.
The significance of the name "Womb Escape," which began in 2007, is that each team originally spawned from our Unexpected Productions improv school then became successful groups on their own without the warmth and comfort of our "womb-like" theater! Now, this tournament is open to anyone who signs up!
