Southeast Derby Referee Mini-Clinic

Join experienced and beginner referees from throughout the Southeast for a day-long training in skating and WFTDA rules and standards. Modeled after the WFTDA referee clinics, this shortened version offers knowledge, networking and encouragement for referees. Day includes a skate skills clinic by the Magic City Misfits, on-skates and classroom training led by WFTDA-certified referees Seer Sin and DJ Jazzy Reff, and a scrimmage with skaters from around the region. Hosted by the Savannah Derby Devils' Referee Squad.
PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS
Referee clinic (10 a.m. - 8 pm.)
Participants must be at least 18 years old, must present proof of current USARS or WFTDA membership upon check-in, and must bring their own skates and protective gear. All on-skates participants must wear all WFTDA-required protective gear at all times while on skates. All on-track participants must sign a liability waiver on site.
Participants registered for the referee clinic will receive a T-shirt, box lunch, nine hours of classroom and on-skates instruction and WFTDA testing.
Scrimmage Skaters (5 - 8 p.m.)
Skaters are welcome to scrimmage from 6-8 p.m.. Check-in starts at 5 p.m.. Skaters must present proof of current USARS or WFTDA membership upon check-in and must bring two shirts (one black, one red) that display their number on the back in no less than 4" tall lettering. (Name is optional) All on-track participants must sign a liability waiver on site.
Scrimmage skaters will get the opportunity to skate with colleagues from around the region and gain new perspective on the game of the area's best referees.

10 - 10:30 a.m. Check-in, Welcome
10:30 am - 12:30 p.m. Skate Clinic w/ the Magic City Misfits
12:30 - 1 p.m. Box lunch provided
1:30 - 5:30 p.m. Ref classroom, on-track training & testing w/ WFTDA-certified referees
5:30 p.m. Skating warm-up on track
6 - 8 p.m. Scrimmage with players from around the region (Red vs. Black)
10 p.m. Afterparty @ Congress Street Social Club!
Everyone interested in participating is encouraged to register, including scrimmage skaters who get in for free. All registrants will receive a welcome packet with recommendations on lodging, dining and sightseeing in historic Savannah.
