THE EBONY NUTCRACKER- SUITE
Classical Contemporary Ballet Theatre (CCBT), a new innovative ballet company in Brooklyn, is proud to announce its premier of The Ebony Nutcracker Suite. This exciting production is a family fun filled way to kick off your holiday season in the Brooklyn community. It will take you on a journey, exposing you to the beauty of an African American girl, her family and the Nutcracker. Our Nutcracker is staged in the late 18th century, set to traditional music by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreographed by CCBT Artistic Director James Atkinson.
CCBT's company members hail from outstanding
companies and schools such as Miami City Ballet, Ballet Noir, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Richmond Ballet, Oakland Ballet and NYU. Students from the Restoration Youth Arts Academy will be featured in this holiday classic as part of the ChoreoQuest mentoring initiative of the Bedford Stuyvesant Corporation's Center For Arts and Culture.
Support our new holiday production as we deck the halls, adorn our dancers will dazzling costumes and delight you in the spirit of the season.
We encourage you to meet the cast and take pictures with such memorable characters as the Nutcracker, Clara, Rat King and the Sugar Plum Fairy following the performance.
