This special concert by internationally renowned Scots singer, songwriter, guitarist and harmonica player will take place on the 253rd anniversary of the birth of Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns, with whom Malcolm shares many affinities. Both have eloquently expressed the joys and sorrows of love and the wonders of nature and fiercely taken on those that abuse their places of power and position. Among Jim's critically acclaimed 10 CDs released as a solo artist, he was also featured as lead vocalist on 4 recordings while a member of the esteemed Scottish ensemble Old Blind Dogs, is an all-Burns album and Malcolm has also released a DVD of his hilarious one-man-show as Robert Burns,'Bard Hair Day.' A winner of the 2004 'Songwriter of the Year' from the prestigious Scots Trad Music Awards, which also has nominated him more times than anyone else as 'Singer of the Year,' Jim has been hailed in 'Living Tradition' as 'one of the finest singers in Scotland in any style,' in 'The Independent' as 'one of the most outstanding talents to have emerged from the Scottish folk scene in years' and in 'Dirty Linen' as having 'one of those pure, warm folk voices one never tires of listening to.'
