Bemidji Symphony Orchestra presents"American Lessons"
The Bemidji Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Beverly Everett, continues its 73rd season "Made in America" with "American Lessons," a concert featuring acclaimed flutist Carol Wincenc on Christopher Rouse's Flute Concerto. Also on the program are Edward Elgar's "Serenade for Strings" and Mozart's Symphony No. 31 "Paris."
Wincenc, a professor of flute at the Juilliard School and a longtime member of the New York Woodwind Quintet, is one of the most respected and acclaimed flutists performing today, appearing with orchestras worldwide and premiering works written for her by prominent composers. A prolific recording artist, Wincenc's performance of the Rouse Flute Concerto won the coveted Diapson D'Or Award with the Houston Symphony as well as Gramophone's "Pick of the Month" recording with the Buffalo Philharmonic.
