Master Class Series with Gwen Ritchie Hunter
The Kelly Strayhorn Theater presents a master class series to connect pre-professional and professional dancers with important contemporary choreographers. This is an opportunity for the Pittsburgh dance community to learn from local seasoned dance professionals and visiting artists presenting new contemporary work at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater. Designed for professional and pre- professional dancers to explore their fullest potential through movement, this series includes material from varied somatic practices and at times leaves space for improvisation, giving an opportunity to access and cultivate presence. Explore the use of weight and momentum, clarity of initiation, pathways of energy through the body and space, and breath as a vehicle for timing and phrasing. Special guest choreographers are announced throughout the season.
