8 HOUR SET

Marc Schneider (Circus Company, Word and Sound | Hamburg)

It's not a stretch, at all, to say that Claude Young is one of the greatest techno DJs who has ever lived. Aside from his incredible taste, Claude's technical skills behind the decks are nothing short of astonishing. His cut-and-paste style is closer to that of a hip-hop DJ than a techno jock, but he really makes it work. We've been wanting to book Claude for many years, but he's been in Japan, not really touring. When we finally got a chance to catch him at DEMF this year, we weren't the only ones to be completely blown away, as nearly everyone we talked to ranked his set as the weekend's best. In 2006 in Tokyo, Claude met Takasi Nakajima, and together they formed Different World. They have a record coming soon on Kirk Degiorgio's ART label, and had a track included on Marcel Fengler's Berhain mix CD. Check the Soundcloud links below for some very impressive sets and productions; also, the Resident Advisor piece on Claude is essential reading.

While DJ Jus-Ed has been spinning records and producing for a very long time, it's really in the past few years that the world has truly taken notice. Ed launched his Underground Quality imprint in 2005, releasing many of his own tunes and slowly bringing onboard virtually unknown artists like Fred P, DJ Qu, Nina Kraviz, and Levon Vincent, all of whom have since gone on to be recognized and celebrated internationally. After years of experience hosting and guesting on various radio programs, Ed has settled down at The Underground Quality Radio Show on myhouse-yourhouse.net. The program currently holds a cult like status with some of the most famous house music producers and record fiends alike, who tune in each an every Wednesday to sample some of the quality house music that Jus-Ed has become known and loved for the world over. When he's not working on tunes, doing his radio show, raising a family, chopping wood, or plowing snow up in Connecticut, Jus-Ed makes regular appearances at some of the best clubs in the world, such as Panorama Bar, Tape Club, Rex, Fabric, and Trouw. We've hosted Ed many times at both The Bunker and House-N-Home, but it's been quite a while since he's appeared on our turf. Ed will be opening the night in inimitable style with a 4 hour set.

Ever since Marc Schneider blew our mind with his set at The Bunker a few years back, we've been very eager to have him back. Derek Plaslaiko called him his favorite DJ to play with after doing a gig with him in Germany earlier this year, reminding us that he was long overdue to get back behind the decks at The Bunker. Aside from being a popular DJ in Germany, Marc is known for his work at record distribution companies Container and Word And Sound, where he is still shaping the taste of a nation as main buyer and sales manager. Never having missed any major development or pivotal release in quality dance music, Marc can flex his DJ-muscles in so many different ways and sensibly guide the crowd through a tasteful mix of all things house and techno. Marc has become more well known for his DJing than his productions over the years, but all of that may change soon as he has a big release on the horizon for Circus Company.
