Knockdown Stand-Up!
The next Knockdown Stand-Up Show is going to be AMAZING!!! On December 2nd, we have headliner and Last Comic Standing finalist Myq Kaplan!!!
*******Myq Kaplan is a comedian named Myq Kaplan. He has appeared on the Tonight Show, The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Comedy Central Presents, and many other places that you might not care about. His CD, Vegan Mind Meld, was one of iTunes top ten best-selling comedy albums in 2010.
*********Featuring will be Brian Beaudoin!!! Brian just got back from the World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas after being a semi-finalist!!! He was also voted Rhode Island's BEST COMIC OF 2009 & 2010 (Providence Phoenix Readers Poll) and was winner of the 2010 Rhode Island Comic Throwdown!!!
*******And directly after comedy we have The Agents!!! Providence Pride, The Agents have proven to be a band that can't be ignored. The groups logo proudly displays the skyline of Providence, Rhode Island, where the band is from. "The small town with the big sound" is how The Agents like to think of their hometown. Jason Dalomba (vocals, guitar)and Dawn Maguire (trumpet)formed The Agents in February 1995 and joined forces with Frank Moniz(sax) and Jason "Deuce" Medeiros (Bass) to take their energetic blend of ska, rock steady, and reggae throughout the U.S.A. This crew has recently rounded out its lineup with the addition of John Letourneau (guitar) and Krys Jackson (Drums).
The Agents pay homage to tradition. Whether it's their name, logo or sound, they give respect to their roots. The Agents' debut full-length CD released on Radical Records, For All The Massive is a grand mixture of Traditional Ska, Reggae, Swing and Surf.
The groups follow up album, 401(2000)displays the groups eclectic influences and special mixture of style and sounds describing the album as very rich, moving, and catchy as hell. The group has recently begun work on their third album due out in late 2010.
Due to their diversity and huge local fan base, The Agents have had the opportunity to play with a variety of bands, including: The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Specials, The Amazing Royal Crowns, Pilfers, Burning Spear, The Skatalites, Mephiskapheles, Skinnerbox, Stubborn All-Stars and more
