Ray Brown, former jazz trumpet player and/or arranger for Stan Kenton, Count Basie and Bill Watrous, brings his Great Big Band, an all-star big band from the Bay Area and beyond, to the Cabrillo College Crocker Theater. The Band's book, written entirely by Ray, gives literally all the players ample time to solo, and standing room audiences from the Monterey Jazz Festival to Kuumbwa to the Lake Tahoe Music Festival are evidence of the band's popularity. The Band's new CD, KAYAK, available on CD Baby, is currently enjoying airplay throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia and Europe.
