Comedy Benefit - Leenstra Family Flood Relief
The First of Sussex chapter of Toastmasters International proudly presents an EVENING OF COMEDY to benefit a local family whose house was heavily damaged by recent flooding. The funny and fast-paced show includes performances by nationally and regionally known standup comics interwoven with comedy songs, stories and magic. The headliner, Alex Barnett, is from New York City and performs at clubs, colleges and venues throughout the country. He has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, in CNN.com and on NYC-TV. He recently won the 12th Annual Gilda's Club (Northern NJ) Laugh-Off. And, in 2010, placed 2d in Philadelphia's Emerging Comics Contest held at Philadelphia's Laff House. Alex also is a writer. He chronicles his comedy career in a regularly-occurring column in The New York Daily News "Money" section. And, he writes a monthly humor column for the online webzine, The Coil Review .
