Featured artists include Jolie Chrisman, oboe. Ms. Chrisman is a native of Oak Park who studied with renowned oboe soloist Humbert Lucarelli at the Hartt School of Music. Her program will inlcude works of Samuel Barber,Robert Sibbing and Aaron Copeland.
Also featured is the Northern Illinois University Liberace Jazztet. Chosen by competitive audition,the Liberace Jazztet includes both graduate and undergraduate jazz studies majors. In the short time since its inception,the group has achieved national prominence,appearing in New York and Toronto at International Association of Jazz Educators conferences and other important venues.Their first commercial CD,On the Verge,was recently released.
