Palm Springs Opera Guild 28th Annual Vocal Competition
HURRY...NOT MANY SEATS LEFT. The Palm Springs Opera Guild presents its 28th annual Vocal Competition TOMORROW ... Sunday, December 4 from 3-5 pm.
The event moves to the beautiful Annenberg Center at Eisenhower in Rancho Mirage this year. In addition to a splendid auditorium this location offers unlimited free parking and easy access.
Ten promising young opera students sing two arias each to compete for instant valuable scholarhips. A distinguished panel of professionals judges their skills and talent and awards scholarships totaling over $15,000. Many previous winners perform regularly with major opera companies throughout the world, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York and LA Opera. These ten singers have been selected from over 100 applicants from the western states and represent the exciting future of opera. The event will feature open seating so plan to arrive early.
The concert will be followed by a fund-raising dinner (for a tax-deductible donation of $110 each) catered by Lulu California Bistro directly across from the auditorium featuring entertainment by the top winners.
The Palm Springs Opera Guild is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt cultural organization which provides education, support and promotion of opera, particularly in the greater Palm Springs area. Other community activities of the Guild include the renowned Opera in the Park, slated for Sunday, April 1, 2012 and its Outreach Program which introduces opera to young school children in the Coachella Valley.
