Patrick Street
Calvary Center philadelphia, PA
Patrick Street, the original Irish supergroup, began when four recognized masters - fiddler Kevin Burke of the Bothy Band, singer/bouzouki player Andy Irvine of Planxty, fiddler Jackie Daly of De Dannan), and multi-instrumentalist Ged Foley of the Battlefield Band - joined forces for what they expected to be a one-off tour in 1986. More than twenty years later, theyre still going strong. In the band's current lineup, Burke's highly ornamented Sligo fiddle, Irvine's unforgetable voice and intricate bouzouki, and Foley's inventive guitar are joined by John Carty's inimitable banjo. Now as ever, Patrick Street represents the spirit and sensibility of Irish music at its best.
