One of the most acclaimed productions of it's season, this enchanting, three-character "silent movie opera" based on Abram Rooms' 1926 film comedy, received an Obie Award for it's composer and 7 Drama Desk nominations, including Best Musical. The story tells of Ludmilla and her husband, Kolia, sharing an apartment in 1926 Stalinist Moscow with his best friend and war buddy, Volodya. This touching and humorous musical won rave reviews from the NY Times, the Village Voice and NY Newsday.
