Eighth Annual Pesto Festo
Slow Food Tennessee Valley is very pleased to announce our eighth annual Pesto Festo, which will be held Saturday, August 29th from 5:30-9:00 pm at the Center for Urban Agriculture at Knoxville Botanical Garden.
Pesto Festo celebrates local food, local flavors, and local talent. The highlight of the evening will be a 4-course, locally-sourced dinner, prepared by chefs Byron and Kiki Sambat of the Savory & Sweet food truck. Our pesto contest will also give the amateur cook a chance to shine.
And of course we haven't forgotten the fun! Activities will include a farm tour highlighting the great work being done by the Center for Urban Agriculture, lawn games, and garden activities for kids. We will also hold a silent auction, with proceeds supporting the work of Slow Food Tennessee Valley.
While this is a BYOB event, Hexagon Brewing Co. will provide beer tastings; also, Cruze Farm will be serving ice cream and Old City Java will offer post-dinner coffee (more local talent!). As always, we strive for zero waste events, so please bring your own place setting(s).
Tickets are $50 for adults, $45 for Slow Food members, and $25 for kids ages 5-10. Members, please email us at info@slowfoodtnvalley.com for the code to purchase discounted tickets.
We are very excited about this year's Pesto Festo; we hope to see you there!
