MAN OF LA MANCHA
Longfellow Auditorium Berkeley, CA
Tickets are still available at the door for all remaining performances. Arrive early. Box office opens 1 hour before curtain; house opens 30 minutes before curtain.
Winner of 5 Tony Awards, MAN OF LA MANCHA is a remarkable show and one of the great theater successes of our time. Youth Musical Theater Company presents this play-within-a-play, based on Cervantes' "Don Quixote". It is the story of the adventures of an eccentric idealist in a hostile and cynical world. The entire story is re-enacted by prisoners in the dungeons of the Spanish Inquisition, giving stark contrast to this comic tragedy of one man's struggle to better the world in which he lives. Songs from this show include "Dulcinea", "I Really Like Him", "Little Bird" and the powerful "The Impossible Dream".
Performances on October 26, November 2, and November 3 (matinee) will feature David Crane as Cervantes/Quixote, Madeleine Miller-Bottome as Aldonza/Dulcinea, and Ethan Poole as Sancho.
Performances on October 27, 28 and November 3 (evening) will feature Dean Linnard as Cervantes/Quixote, Simone Kertesz as Aldonza/Dulcinea, and Parker Menzimer as Sancho.
The Youth Musical Theater Company is an independent, non-profit theater company that provides musical theater training and performance opportunities for talented, passionate young people, grades 7 through 12.
Note: The box office will open an hour before curtain; the house will open half an hour before curtain. All performances are open seating.
