Kenny Werner Quintet
Kenny Werner is a world-class pianist and composer whose prolific compositions, recordings and publications continue to impact audiences around the world and influence an entire generation of musicians and artists. Kenny was recently awarded the 2010 Guggenheim Fellowship Award for his seminal work, No Beginning No End, a profound tribute to his 16-year-old daughter killed in a 2006 car crash, that is on the level of such other extended jazz composers as Duke Ellington and Charles Mingus. "If we help the audience discover their own inner voice amidst the technological din, then we're very relevant. In my own quest to find that passion inside myself . . . I found that I could bring in people who didn't know anything about the musicbut they sure were having an experience being unplugged from the matrix." interview with Nat Hentoff, Wall Street Journal "Kenny Werner is a total musician. He feeds my heart and my brain and pushes me into fresh territories." Toots Thielemans.
