Race Matters
First Person Stage Philadelphia, PA
Want to get personal about race? Talk to June Cross, the daughter of a white mother and a black father, sent to live with a black couple when she could no longer "pass" for white. A discussion of her coming-of-age story, set against the changing racial landscape of America during the last half-century, will be followed by a screening of her Emmy-winning documentary "Secret Daughter: A Mixed Race Daughter and the Mother Who Gave Her Away."
This event is presented as part of the First Person Festival of Memoir and Documentary Art, November 7-11. For more information, see www.firstpersonarts.org.
