A Northern California Slow Food Picnic
Saturday, October 8 from 1PM to 6PM
At the Penngrove Community Park
11800 Main St., Penngrove
(Main St. and Old Redwood Highway)
Cost: $12 per person

This will be a day of fun activities including 3 food contests, games and good food shared amongst friends. We will provide Slow Burgers, Hot Dogs and veggies from the grill, water and agua frescas. The rest of the meal will be potluck.
FOOD CONTESTS:
We will have 3 food contests, with trophies to the winners. Show your stuff by entering one (or all) of these contests:
* Salsa Contest
* Pie Contest
* Ice Cream Contest (freezer will be available for storage)
All contest entries will be available for snacking (salsas) or dessert for the group. We will provide chips.
GAMES:
The park has facilities for basketball, horseshoes and softball, but there is also room to add volleyball or badminton, croquet or soccer. There will be plenty of fun for the whole family. Please bring any sporting equipment you have that we can use.
WHAT TO BRING:
* Your own plates, napkins, utensils and glasses. We want to limit waste.
* A salad or side dish to share
* Beverages beer and/or wine to share if you wish to imbibe
* Your contest entries - salsa, pie or ice cream
* A blanket on which to lie around
* Game/Sports equipment
We could use some volunteers, especially on the day of the event, so please notify Paul Sequeira if you are willing to pitch in. Paul would also love to hear from anyone willing to bring sporting equipment, including horseshoes, a badminton/volleyball net, a croquet set or a volleyball.
