Enjoy "La Vie Parisienne" on Mother's Day
May 8th, 2016 3:00 pm | Sundin Music Hall Hamline University, St. Paul
Sonate ChampĂȘtre Germaine Tailleferre
Piano Trio in E Minor Louise Farrenc
String Quartet Claude Debussy
In honor of Mother's Day, we present music by two wonderful French women composers! Germaine Tailleferre's light and breezy Sonate ChampĂȘtre draws on melodies from one of her own comic operas, and Louise Farrenc's virtuosic and rich Trio for violin, cello, and piano goes right to the heart of 19th century Romanticism. Completing our season will be a performance of Debussy's remarkable String Quartet.
The Musical Offering's ensemble is composed of top-tier professional musicians from the Minnesota Orchestra and Minnesota's top University Schools of Music: Celine Leathead, violin; Gareth Zehngut, viola; Jim Jacobson, cello; Jane Garvin, flute; John Snow, oboe; David Pharris, clarinet; Caroline Lemen horn; *Norbert Nielubowski, bassoon; and *Susan Billmeyer, piano.
*Co-Artistic Director
