Michael Anthony & First Take Trio
It takes a virtuoso musician and one with an agile personality to earn first-call status in LA's demanding recording studios. Guitarist Michael Anthony fit the bill from the 1960s to the '80s, and even then, the industry there was rue to see him retire.
He worked at every major studio from Disney to Paramount to MGM. His guitar voice is heard on hundreds of memorable recordings with such greats as Henri Mancini and Tony Bennett. Anthony's long list of credentials include playing with names everyone knows - Miles Davis, Blue Mitchell, Elvin Jones and Ray Brown. On top of that, he's heard in numerous movie soundtracks such as New York, New York. Michael Anthony's TV credentials would alone fill a remote control!
Now a long-time resident of Albuquerque, in 2014, Michael Anthony was recognized by the New Mexico Music Awards as Winner of the Eric Larson Lifetime Achievement Award. Anthony's insider stories of the wild and oft-times surprising experiences working with a stunning list of music legends plus a demonstration of his versatility of style and string instruments live on in this unique concert. Expect a glittering and fun evening of a range of sounds and moods, while the stage will be a virtual display of Anthony's rich music world.
