Curator's Coffee -- The Security of the Museum
Have you ever wondered what it takes to run a major public facility like the Museum? Hear from the Museum's Safety and Security Manager, Chet Lawrence, and hear about the security and safety measures necessary for 3 buildings, visitors, staff, equipment, vehicles, and the tens of thousands of objects in the collections.not to mention the moon rock and other one-of-a-kind exhibits. Then take a walk to the Security office to the behind-the-scenes security monitoring station that keeps watch on vulnerable areas within and outside the Museum buildings.
Chet Lawrence, the Museum's Safety and Security Supervisor, manages the security staff and is responsible for safety procedures. Prior to coming to the Museum as a security officer, he managed personnel and other elements of billion dollar construction projects in 10 states and Canada.
The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science reserves the right to cancel any event that does not reach a minimum of 6 participants.
