Communicating with the Press: A Workshop for Visual Artists feat. Jen Graves
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
With an ever-dwindling pool of art critics and publications, one of an artist's greatest challenges is finding resources to draw attention to their work. For many artists who represent themselves and struggle to make ends meet, it may be a low priority to focus on putting out a proper press release. But this one page of information could be critical to drawing attention to your show for press coverage as well as art listings.
Jen Graves, art critic and arts editor for The Stranger, will be discussing in this free Brown Paper Tickets workshop how visual artists can best interact with the media: from press releases, to digital correspondence, to interviews. Talk will be followed by a Q & A.
