Long Island Voices presents 9/11 Memorial Concert of LI to benefit LI Veterans
Long Island Voices, under the direction of composer Michael Bussewitz-Quarm, supports the concept of communities taking ownership of "their veterans". They are a diverse group of singers affiliated with many Long Island Choruses and Choirs who have joined together, volunteering their time and talents to make this concert possible. This year, a number of LI instrumentalists have volunteered their talents as well to form the Long Island Voices orchestra. This concert will be professionally recorded through a very generous donation of service and time by R S Recording Services of Westhampton, New York.
The proceeds of the concert sponsorships and ticket sales will go to the non-for-profit group, 9-1-1 Veterans. 9-1-1 Veterans is a small non-profit organization dedicated to assisting Long Island Veterans. They provide financial assistance to those who have served, or are still serving, in our military. The transition period from military to civilian life is a critical time both psychologically and financially. Some go through a lengthy process of applying for service connected to disability and have no other means of support while awaiting benefits. 9-1-1 Veterans, with no paid employees, is able to give 100% of donated funds directly to our wounded warriors
