People Talking and Singing is the must-see annual fundraiser for 826 Seattle. This benefit concert offers a unique pairing of hip, critically acclaimed Talkers (luminaries from the literary and comedy worlds) with equally renowned Singers in the form of musicians and songwriters from the indie rock scene. This year's event at Town Hall on November 8, 2007 will be hosted by John Roderick of The Long Winters and includes author Dave Eggers; comedians Todd Barry and Eugene Mirman; New Yorker music critic Sasha Frere-Jones. Singers: John Roderick of The Long Winters, Rosie Thomas and Geologic of Blue Scholars.
All proceeds directly support the work of 826 Seattle, a nonprofit writing and tutoring center dedicated to helping youth, ages six to 18, improve their creative and expository writing skills.
