Drink the Harvest: A Craft Cocktail Competition

On Sunday, August 2, the top 4 craft cocktail recipes selected by a panel of judges will be presented for a tasting by the public. Slow Food-minded cocktails* will be paired with a tasting menu designed by Sainte Terre Chef Holly Moore Schreiber. Attendees will vote on the winning cocktail, earning a $250 cash prize for its creator.

Setting the mood will be the the New Levee Serenaders and the gorgeous setting of the Sainte Terre event venue in Benton, LA. (Check them out at www.sainteterre.com)

Tickets must be purchased in advance, there will be no sales at the door. 100 tickets are available. Attendees must be 21 years of age. General admission tickets are $50, Current Slow Food Member tickets are $42 (password required, sent to your Slow Food registered email).

For $20/person, you can ride our round-trip bus to Sainte Terre. The bus will depart from/drop-off at Pierremont Mall, 4801 Line Ave, Shreveport in the parking lot in front of Steinmart. There are 57 seats available. Bus departs Pierremont Mall at 4:30 and will return at approximately 8:30 pm. The member discount is not available for the bus (sorry).

Proceeds support the programs of Slow Food North Louisiana.

*What is a Slow Food-minded cocktail you ask? This means cocktail recipes will feature ingredients that are seasonal and regional (fruits, herbs, peppers, summer veggies) the more local the better! Entrants were also strongly encouraged to use American craft spirits.
