The MLK Streets Project Film Premiere
ONE OF THE ONLY EVENTS IN TOWN
NOT CANCELLED AND COMMEMORATING DR. KING AND THE ANNIVERSARY
OF THE HISTORIC MARCH ON WASHINGTON.
Straight, No Chaser Films, in partnership with One Common Unity, presents the World Premiere Screening of The MLK Streets Project, a documentary film co-produced by the "A Nu View" Youth Crew.
The MLK Streets Project is a revealing documentary film following 10 Washington, DC high school students as they travel cross-country to observe and record, first-hand, the condition of America's MLK streets with a historic, geographic, economic and racial viewpoint. Three years in the making, the film was created through the A Nu View youth filmmaking program, an innovative arts-media education experience and funded in part by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region, and the Humanities Council of Washington, DC.
Celebrating the Anniversary of the historic March on Washington and coinciding with the unveiling of the national monument dedicated to Dr. King, the film premiere will include a VIP cocktail reception and a community discussion regarding the current state of MLK streets in relation to his "Dream."
