violent but good natured, a great spectator sport, even if you can't understand the rules. The spectators were worth spectating too. The pub activities after were worth seeing as well.
We were Roller virgins - and let's just say ' of a certain age ' so we didn't know what to expect - or whether we'd be made to feel a little out of place. As it happens we had a great time, the atmosphere and friendliness of the players and crowd was a great surprise and the contest itself was exciting. A couple of seats would have been good ( as I'm sure anyone over 60 would agree ) but I'm sure that depends on the venue. We have recommended Roller Derby to all our friends and look forward to another event. A brilliant afternoon and great value.
