BAD BAD HATS:

Bad Bad Hats is an indie rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Kerry Alexander (vocals, guitar, wisdom), Chris Hoge (drums, courage), and Noah Boswell (bass, power) met while attending Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minn. Kerry and Chris began writing songs together in 2010, recording a collection of demos that would later become their first EP. The addition of their friend Noah in 2012 solidified the line-up. The indie rock trio's songwriting quickly caught the ear of Minneapolis label Afternoon Records, whose alumni includes Yellow Ostrich, Now Now, Haley Bonar, and One for the Team, among others. Afternoon Records signed the trio and released their It Hurts EP in early 2013. Two years later, the date is set to release their bold debut LP, Psychic Reader on July 17th.

THE AWFUL TRUTH:

The Awful Truth is the moniker of Minneapolis based songwriter Brent Colbert- exploring duality and layered meanings through music and intuition.

2015 release "Lakewater" is a cassette of 7 surreal pop songs honing in on a new sound, spanning from melodic to experimental. Performed with Laurie Geving, Stephen Sokolouski, and Chris Madden, 'Lakewater' is full of cathartic tones and strings, creating brooding pop melodies no doubt inspired by the dramatic seasons in the Midwest.

2012 release 'Birthright' speaks the stories and moodscapes of years spent in Utah. It mimics the state's landscapes and long sunsets, all through a steady narrative. Upon release Colbert set out on a nationwide tour, performing 54 North American shows (including a stop by the Daytrotter Studios) in the fall of 2012.

The Awful Truth has been direct support for Owen Pallet, Angel Olsen, the The Dodos.

"Band frontman Brent Colbert manages to empathetically craft hypnotizing songs within the conventions of folk without having to rewrite any rules." -SLUG Mag
