Country Club Catastrophe
Back Alley Theater Company is proud to present our second production this summer at Exit Theatre! Country Club Catastrophe is a high farce about the elimination of the middle class in America.
Set in a New England country club where there exists only the zany, wealthy patrons and the hired help that cater to their every need, a young cheerleader from a middle class family, Cynthia Anniston, goes to the club to find the American dream! In search of Prince Charming, the fairy tale life, and all its amenities, her entrance to the club causes a disturbance to the social order. This ripple manifests in a great storm, the changing of seasons, and eventually an earthquake. The seismic activity influences the staff and inspires them to quit their posts in search of a better existence, leaving the rich to fend for themselves. Chaos ensues and extinction of both classes seems inevitable until they realize "Someone has to be the maid!" Come see what transpires for the fate of the rich, the poor, and the in-between in this farcical look at our modern American class structure.
