Veteran comedian Kurt Bodden assumes the role of master motivator Steve Seabrook, who takes the audience to a safe, nurturing place of empowerment where they can look inside their hearts to examine why they aren't all that successful. As Steve says, "I don't want to change you. I just provide the space to turn you ... into a "you" ... that's Better Than You." Survivors of actual personal-growth seminars say that the show is "hilarious" and "nails the tone perfectly" including "that little creepy edge."
Writer/performer Kurt Bodden works in standup, improv, sketch, and physical comedy. The 2007 SF Fringe featured his solo show "Class Notes: True Tales from Harvard's Alumni Magazine." For "Steve Seabrook," Kurt draws on his own experience leading corporate workshops in team-building and creativity ... plus his time as a consumer of personal coaching and transformation seminars. He has trained at The Groundlings (sketch comedy) and Flying Actor Studio (physical theater), hosted his own live talk show at the legendary Purple Onion (complete with interviews, house band, and booze), and performed improv at the Edinburgh Fringe.
