25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee - CenterStage Theatre Co. Jul 28 - Aug 14
Louisville Arts Center Louisville, CO
Music and Lyrics by William Finn Book by Rachel Sheinkin Conceived by Rebecca Feldman Directed by Jeanie Balch Music Direction by Katie McClave
Boulder theater critic, Mark Collins, gave this show *** 1/ 2 stars and wrote "Watching CenterStage Theatre Company's version of the show last Saturday was the most fun I've had in a theater all year. CenterStage's "Spelling Bee" is proof you don't need the big lights and big stage to spell g-r-e-a-t s-h-o-w."
Don't miss this fun and quirky show that challenges our national obsession with being number one. Six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser.
Spelling Bee is rated slightly "PG" for mildly bad language and uncontrollable adolescent body parts!
Friday nights, slightly naughtier shows will be held after the Louisville Street Faire. Have fun at the Street Faire, then head right up the street to enjoy a very funny, "Late Night" version of the show!
