This Twisted Tale
This dark comedy, fuses high-octane aerial arts, acrobatics, original music, animation, and shadow puppetry, enacts a strange encounter between a misfit little girl and an unpredictable and crass incarnation the Devil. This unique, magical and provocative performance uses invented aerial apparatus: a street lamp, monkey bars and a chain swing! The original script describes Chloe, a scruffy, snotty girl, who arrives on the playground to perform a shadow puppet show for her imaginary audience. Unbeknownst to her, there's a trickster lurking who will ultimately become her closest friend. Chloe is a storyteller at heart, but Luce shows her how to play as hard as she can dream. Luce appears as a classical bad influence, an eccentric woman with crazed hair and dangerous ideas. Throughout, we wonder if it's destructive forces in our lives that yield the most light and growth.
