Prehistoric Preschool - Day Sky/Night Sky, Saturday P.M.
Prehistoric Preschool is a Museum program for 3-5 year olds and their adult companions to explore natural history topics in a supportive and fun atmosphere. All activities are child-centered, hands-on, and age appropriate. Classes include two hours of crafts, songs, games, puppet shows, investigating specimens from the Museum's collections, Museum visits, and a fun and healthy snack.
Fall Session 1: Day Sky/Night Sky
Observe the sky, both during the day and at night clouds, the sun and moon, and is that a star?
We notice what we see and discover how it happens and why.
1) What's the Weather Today: Hot, Cold, Wet, Dry ?
2) Moon, Planets, Stars: Night Sky Discoveries
3) Seasons and the Sun: First Day of Fall
4) Asteroids, Comets and Meteors: What's the Difference?
This class meets on:
Saturday, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.: August 27, September 10, September 24, & October 8.
This program is also offered: Thursday 10 a.m. to noon, August 25- October 6, Friday 10 a.m. to noon August 26-October 7; and Saturdays 10 a.m. to noon, August 27- October 8; look for a separate Brown Paper Ticket listing.
Scholarships are available for children who qualify and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. To apply go to http://www.nmnaturalhistory.org/preschool.html and download the form containing the Scholarship application and instructions. For additional questions please do call 505 841-2861.
