This workshop will be based on Gary's personal studies with American Indian people, which will include historical origins shared with Gary. He will show how to approach the melodies for playing the love songs based on compositions from his recorded collection of songs. Gary will share his ongoing studies of the traditional aspects of the American Indian flute as it relates to the unique playing techniques of the love songs. He will close with a private performance of three of his most cherished love songs.
Gary is performing with David Lanz Sunday afternoon for the closing concert of Flute Quest 2007
Note: Children under twelve are admitted free of charge to all concerts. Flute Quest is a family event, drugs and alcoholic beverages are not permitted at this event.
