OKVD Battle Squad v. Tulsa Derby Brigade
June 25, 2011- Doors open at 6 pm,action starts at 7!
Tickets are $10 in advance and are available at both Guestroom Records locations (http://guestroom-records.com/), or online at brownpapertickets.com. Tickets are $12 at the door. Kids under 12 get in FREE with a paid adult.
The Battle Squad is OKVD's non-chartered team; Instead of playing for WFTDA rankings like the OKVD All-Stars travel team, they play for experience and to hone their derby skills. The Battle Squad gives any Victory Doll a chance to experience inter-league play, deliver big hits and have a great time playing the sport of women's flat track roller derby. The Battle Squad skaters' goals are to develop the skills necessary to qualify for the All-Stars travel team so pick your favorite now and get ready to see them rise to derby stardom. Make plans now because you'll have a great time watching the OKVD Battle Squad take on the Tulsa Derby Brigade from Tulsa, OK as this is the first time for these two teams to meet. A hand full of the Battle Squad will be making their inter-league debut so you don't want to miss what these ladies got in store for you!
Music from DJ Neu, OKC's best female DJ, and official DJ of the Oklahoma Victory Dolls! Beer can be purchased with a valid ID. Cupcakes from Luxy Cupcakes (www.luxycupcakes.com) will be available for purchase as well. Seating is available on a first come first serve basis and you are welcome to bring your own chair.
The Oklahoma Victory Dolls are OKC's premier WFTDA member-league and a non-profit organization focusing on promoting sportsmanship and athletics in the community. A portion of the proceeds from this Oklahoma Victory Dolls Roller Derby bout go to benefit the OKC Sooner Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
