New West Guitar Group

The New West Guitar Group (NWGG) is coming back to OCA for the second time! NWGG has developed a wide spread reputation as one of the premier guitar ensembles in the world. The trio, which blossomed out of USC's Thornton School of Music ten years ago, is currently composed of Perry Smith (NYC), John Storie ( L.A.), and Will Brahm (L.A.). Performing classic pop covers, jazz standards and exciting originals encompassing every genre from folk, rock, classical, jazz, blues and more, NWGG combines laid-back virtuosity and innovative arrangements of both acoustic and electric guitar to create their signature sound. www.newwestguitar.com.
Following the critically acclaimed 2011 release of Round Trip Ticket, NWGG toured with Big City , a sophisticated sonic landscape showcasing hot original tunes and captivating covers of Tears for Fears, Simon & Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell and The Police. They currently have a new CD release : "Send One Your Love". Firmly rooted in classical jazz, the trio's versatility as both players and composers has given them a reputation as pioneers of guitar ensemble repertoire, numerous awards and accolades, and great success on national jazz charts, NPR radio, and in major venues the world over.
