Visionary street dancer Romeo risks all to promote 'B-Boy City' events: grassroots hip-hop dance competitions held in the heart of Texas that foster the underground art of b-boying. Two striking new talents have emerged on this nascent scene. Josh and Omar are former best friends who grow apart when Josh tangles with the law and Omar joins a rival crew. As Josh struggles with further arrests, Omar rockets to global success, yet must contend with his Mexican father's traditional expectations, and with unanticipated side effects of renown. Their paths continue to cross in intense dance battles that mirror the larger events in their lives. Inside the circles spontaneously formed by the dancers, Josh and Omar seek meaning and identity in their rocky transition to adulthood.
