"I miss the sense that there is more to music, to an artist, to myself than I had guessed; that when a song comes on the radio or on the turntable I can't predict what it will do to me. I miss the feeling of musicians diving into a performance without much idea of what route they are traveling, let alone where they are going to come out, but with the good-natured, nervous conviction that the trip will return in surprise whatever it cost in uncertainty."  Greil Marcus

In the wake of the hugely popular Sub Rosa, groove based bluesy folkster Brian Webb and his awesome band host a weekly series of musical mayhem beginning June 1st.  Charting unknown territory with some of the best singer songwriters in town, each week will seek to provide what the great Greil Marcus so eloquently felt was missing in music today!

"We like Brian Webb for the same reason we like fried pickles, Schlitz in a bottle, and all breeds of big dogs -- they're all good things that come without an ounce of pretense or posing. When Webb came up to Boston from Atlanta, his first stop was the time-honored singer-songwriter circuit known as the MBTA. He played the platforms until the kindly folks at WERS (88.9 FM) took notice. It wasn't long after his on-air gig at the college radio station that the local clubs took him in and brought his hip alt-country and hook-honed rock to a paying audience."
