Walking Tour: Centennial Walk of an Interracial Marriage on First Hill
One hundred years ago, in July of 1911, the story of a local, interracial couple grabbed newspaper headlines as the pair sought someone willing to marry them. Local historian Rob Ketcherside will lead a walk through First Hill as he relates the challenges this couple faced. Luckily, their story has a happy ending, and that's where we're headed! Meet at the Frye Art Museum, 704 Terry Ave. MOHAI guests may park for free in the visitor lot at the Frye Art Museum starting at 5:30 p.m.
