Featuring "JAZZ ON A SUMMER'S DAY" (1959) and a live performance from JIMMY RYAN'S BALBOA BEBOP BAND
The Balboa Theatre presents a unique event melding America's only two indigenous art forms, JAZZ & FILM. Our program will feature the live performance of the Jimmy Ryan Balboa BeBop Band and the classic film, "Jazz On A Summer's Day" (1959). In 1999, this amazing film was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress who deemed it, "culturally, historically and aesthetically significant." With performances by Louis Armstrong, Thelonius Monk, George Shearing, Gerry Mulligan, Chuck Berry, Jim Hall, Dinah Washington, and Mahalia Jackson.
Show starts at 7:15. Advance tickets are $10, online only.
Tickets at the box office on the day of event will be $12.50 Child/Senior, and $15 General.
