Transparent Clay Necklaces
Originally a failed alternative material for doll making created by the German Kaethe Kruse, polymer clay has grown into a versatile material for creating jewelry due to its nearly non-existent shrinkage and ability to hold brilliant and bold colors. Originally called FIMOIK, a name created by Kruse's daughter who experimented with her mother's compound to create the clay we know today, polymer clay has been further refined into new and exciting forms; one is translucent clay.
Join MAD for this afternoon-long, hands-on workshop in using transparent polymer clay, giving novices and experts alike the chance to create their own wearable wonders from this unique medium.
Fee includes materials and firing.
