GREG LOFTUS: Spilling your heart out countless nights on the road certainly takes its toll, and Greg Loftus knows this all too well. Since his solo debut 'No Taking Prisoners Tonight', Loftus has been playing the East Coast at a frenetic pace, picking up inspiration for new songs every step of the way. Whereas his previous album captures a headstrong, yet emotionally conscious young Loftus, 'Heathens In Disguise' finds the songwriter grappling with maturity and weightier issues. Don't worry though, Loftus can never fully abandon his rowdy beginnings, and spots of it still shine through brilliantly here. Loftus has just grown to accept that for every reckless, party-filled night on the road there is an equally quiet and somewhat lonesome one, and that is something that we all have to learn to face in due time. Let's just hope we can all relay the story as articulate and meaningful as Greg has.
Brian Carpenter is a singer, songwriter, composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist, filmmaker, radio producer, engineer, and actor. He is the founder of Beat Circus, a Boston-based genre-bending ensemble founded in 2002 which spins cabaret, gospel, progressive rock, and Appalachian string music into its own blend of dark, funereal Americana. His new band The Confessions takes the same elements that make up Brian's world and packages them into more traditional song forms.
QWILL: Qwill is the musical vehicle of Boston based singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer Jesse Ciarmataro. Jesse was the founding member of roots rocks trio The Resonance. His music draws influence of indie, roots, rock, and soul. Some of the artists that he has shared the stage with include Richie Havens, Kaki King, The Violent Femmes, MC Esoteric ,Sea Monsters, Rustic Overtones, Guster, and The Samples. He is currently supporting his second self produced ep "The Past Must Present" which he released on his own label Simple Truth Records. It features long time band mate Dennis Monagle (The Resonance) along with Henely Douglas Jr (The Boston Horns) on saxophone, Mike Fiengold (Erykah Badu) on mellotron/vibraphone, and David Easley (Brian Blade Fellowship) on peddle steel guitar.
