moira smiley & VOCO brings effervescent life to the sweet harmony, grit & stomp of American and East European folksong, original music, music of Béla Bartók with the vaudevillian wonderment of voices, cello, banjo, accordion.
moira smiley & VOCO, Inga Swearingen and Round Mountain come together from Santa Fe, California's Central Coast and Los Angeles to perform for you! Expect an evening of gorgeous vocal harmony, a 2-man folk orchestra, rhythms to dance by and songs that make you cry. Brother duo, Round Mountain travel widely and listen deeply in their unique songs that draw on East European, West African and Irish traditions. Inga Swearingen is well-known to NPR audiences for her frequent singing on A Prairie Home Companion. A sparkling improviser and a presence of grounded sunshine on stage, Inga will sing a few songs of her own and also join Moira and cellist/vocalist, April Guthrie in harmony & stomp to kick off their Australian Tour!
